1:00
- Fax (which doesn't go through the first 4 times I try)
- Day pass for internet
- Where are the MP3 books?
- [phone] Hot-keys for Undo and Redo ... and, eventually, Save [wow, dude has no clue about things...]
- Paper and pen? [full sheet not scraps]
- All of Steve Seagal's movies + pay to print [IMDb to the rescue]
- [phone message] "Can someone pull some books for me? My name is [unintelligible]
- Pay to print
- OMG--every freakin' John Wayne movie and most of the Steven Seagall movies too [gahhhh] [one of our regulars who's a pest but also a little slow]
5:00 in the children's room
- Head of circ asks me about parts of two "Miss Nelson..." (Allard) books-with-recordings that are missing pieces; can we combine into one
- Star Wars books about characters and chips
- Card number not working on internet (fines are too high)
- How old to get a card? [she definitely seems older than 4, but her birthday is the same as my son's so that's really exciting: she can come on her birthday and get her card!]
- Librarian T comes out to ask me ... something [which I have somehow forgotten in the past 10 minutes since she left]
- High fines girl still can't get online [cuz circ didn't update her internet use stuff, duh]
- Star Wars kid needs Spiderman books [yuppers]
- Star Wars mom asks about "E 597..." [over here]
- I Spy books [can NEVER remember "Marzollo"....]
- Star Wars mom: "Did you pick up a stack of books....? [no, and she eventually finds where she set them down]
- I hear a dad say, "Ready to go make brownies?" and I suggest I come over after dinner--the kid looks shocked ["oh, nevermind, I can't have chocolate today"]
- Admin Asst. comes in to show me the new hub label layout using Word [awesome, but way more complicated than I can handle in a 5 minute lesson]
- Pencil
- Bathroom key
- Star Wars kid needs Lego Ninjago books, but they're all checked out here [I reserve a copy of "Jay" for him]
- Son of Neptune [it's here, woo hoo]
- ...and it's raining and sunny outside at the same time: cool!
- Bathroom key came back at some point
- Translating/homework help with a kid...not sure what's going on--he's too young for Spanish classes in the district, he's not in dual-language, but he's trying to translate homework his dad(?) is giving him [I don't really get the whole thing, but I help him out as much as I can without telling him the answers]
Brownies made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteLego Ninjago makes my head hurt, esp. since there seem to be a zillion series in a variety of age levels, designed to torture catalogers & juvie librarians.
Congrats on the new hub labels! Out with the old...
